The Freeman Group

The Freeman Group is made up of experienced individuals in each of their respective fields. Our diverse group is made up of people from different backgrounds and a wide range of experience and education.

  • Chad Freeman, owner, and CEO has an MBA in Energy Management from Norwich University. Chad has over 29 years in the powerline distribution industry. Throughout his years, Chad has designed everything from 3-Phase lines to Hendrix wire, to Storm Trooping Hurricane Katrina, as well as the Ice Storm of ’09 and the December Tornado of ’21. Chad’s extensive knowledge of this industry, and attention to detail is the backbone of The Freeman Group. Chad is from the LBL area in Western Kentucky and enjoys boating, hiking with his wife, and hunting.

  • Tim Vied, EET, VP of Engineering, is a graduate of Murray State University with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.  Tim has over 33 years of experience working in the electric power distribution industry.  He received his CPE (Certified Power Executive) certificate from TVPPA while employed with West KY Rural Electric Cooperative as Manager of Engineering.  Tim’s engineering skills are essential in The Freeman Group. Tim enjoys spending time with his wife outdoors hiking and horseback trail riding, and he also enjoys watching UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinal baseball.  

  • Glyn Gordon, VP of Construction, has over 48 years experience and received his B.S. from Murray State in 1975.  From 1973-to 1979 Glyn was the Engineering Assistant and Apprentice Lineman at Murray Electric System.  From 1979-to 1987 Glyn was Journeyman Lineman and Crew Foreman at Central Illinois Public Service. Glyn then moved to West  Kentucky RECC in Mayfield, KY as Lineman and Crew Foreman from 1987-to 2019. Glyn’s years of experience and knowledge of construction in this industry is vital to The Freeman Group. Glyn enjoys golf and yard work in his spare time. 

  • Rudy Stiltner, BSEE, Project and Design Engineer, is a graduate with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Rudy has 8 years of experience working as an engineer in the power distribution industry.  Rudy has experience in system modeling, performing load studies, fault current analysis, voltage drop, phase balancing, and system protection.  Rudy also has helped develop specifications for several substation transformers, worked in conjunction with RUS to complete Construction Work Plan documents, and has collaborated on power distribution designs for multiple large-scale industrial projects which included alterations to existing distribution substations.  Rudy enjoys spending time with his two children, playing video games, and going to movies and concerts. 
  • Greg Luchka, MBA, MPA, Associate Engineer, is a recently retired Master Sergeant–U.S. Army, Civil Affairs–and possess extensive subject-matter expertise in operations management, program analysis, logistics and strategic planning–garnered from conducting domestic and global operations. In addition to Greg’s operational experience, his career is supported by a Master of Public Administration (Marist College), Master of Business Administration (Norwich University), and Post Graduate Certificate in Security, Stability and Development (Naval Post Graduate School). Presently living Colorado, Greg enjoys spending invaluable time with his wife and two daughters, enjoying all the wonderful outdoor activities that Colorado offers.

  • Karli Crook, MBA, Associate Engineer, is from the small coastal town of Bandon, Oregon, and has earned a BS in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon in 2015 and an MBA in Energy Management from Norwich University in 2021. Karli has a nine-year background in healthcare as a certified Phlebotomist and has a passion for learning and teaching. She strives for excellence, integrity, honesty, and accuracy in her career. Karli enjoys exercise, the outdoors, and spending time with family and loved ones. She brings a “willing-to-go-the-extra-mile” attitude to The Freeman Group and cherishes a strong work ethic. 

  • Mindy Freeman, Manager of Logistics, has over 28 years of experience in Logistics. Mindy has spent her career in the supply-chain industry over-seeing projects on many levels. Mindy’s attention to detail and dedication to seeing a job through from start to finish is a key factor in the success of The Freeman Group. Mindy is from the LBL area in Western Kentucky and enjoys, boating, hiking with her husband, and cooking and gardening.
